The Life of John Bunnyan
John Bunyan was born on November 28th 1628 to Thomas and Margaret née Bentley. He lived in a village named Elstow At about age twenty, in the year 1649 John married a woman supposedly named Mary, whom their oldest child might have been named after. Bunyan's wife died in the year 1655 the year Bunyan moved to Bedford. Later, in 1659, he re-married a woman named Elizabeth, who supposedly was Bunyan's second cousin. She bore two more children to the Bunyan family. Bunyan spent twelve years in the Bedford Jail for preaching without a license. John White, Bunyan's jail keeper, let him go to church and once, White let John go to London. But the magistrates found out and demanded that Bunyan stay in his cell. In the February of1678 John published his famous book Pilgrim's Progress. Pilgrims Progress is an allegory. An allegory is a story that explains somthing. Bunyan died from pneumonia on August 31,1688.
