Truthfulness vs. Lying

Truthfulness is very important.  The most common lie is to cover up disobedience or failure.  This comes from pride.  The more you keep your word, the more your parents and friends can trust you. 

It is not always best to lie to someone, or to tell them the truth (if it will hurt them).  For example, if you really don't like someone's outfit, don't talk about it!

Be truthful ALWAYS, but be kind.

Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth. ~Proverbs 16:13
